Your narratives give me chills my friend. I could cry.
Pardon! I'm just missing Paris an awful lot right now.

Very moving text and photo!
"Viens, mon chèr petit-fils, et je te montrerai..." (je crois?)
Beautiful, intriguing photo, Julie!
Evocative!
And our best dictator... sigh. We are far to be only enthousiastic about this little man in France!
Julie, do you use a translator?
Genie is right for the French. By the way I wouldn't say that he was the greatest French ... very war guy and not so democratic ...
Do I use a translator? No. Maybe I should.
I am trying to make my sentences more natural rather than stilted as in a Year 1 reader.
But I am only just learning enough tenses to understand how complicated other languages can be. Just bear with me a little longer. I do not want to return to 'Here is Spot' or "See Spot run".
In my French class last Monday, I asked our teacher, Guy, to relate the 'tenses' in English to the tenses he was introducing us to in French. I hope to improve by tne end of this year.
J'ai su Napoleon Bonaparte a est un dictateur, mais je n'ai pas voulu critiquer les Francais patrimonie national.
Hello Julie, you're lovely about our national pride ;-)
About the translator, I think you're absolutely right, I'm sure your own sentences always will be better without! I always understand what you want to say but you are very demanding from yourself, so you often meet some traps!
I wish you a nice purple Sunday, here it's a rainy one...
Yes, I make demands upon myself in what ever I do. I am like that.
But I think that if I am to improve, then I have to do more and more and make mistakes.
I should be writing in French now, but I have not yet had my morning coffee ...
